Well Sunday morning was the day for my second Origins event which I titled a 'New Year's Resolutions Party' and I had such a great time! Everything turned out just the way I had planned and I was so happy with the result. There were some lovely guests and everyone seemed to really get into the New Year spirit.
We were well and truly treated by the gorgeous girls Danielle and Hope from Filmore and Union and got to sample some of the vibrant refreshments that they are so famous for. We tried the 'Union Tonic' and 'Goodness Greens' juices which are both part of the Juice programmes they offer and also some of the delicious gluten free and vegan brownies. The girls gave the guests information on the business, coming from just down the road at the York Petergate store and even provided some vouchers for the dinner menu in the goodie bags!
Filmore and Union have started holding Supper Clubs at the end of each month and for January it's a Vegan Night. With these getting more and more popular it's best to book early to avoid disappointment and after talking to the girls, I myself am very interested as they sound like a great way to try new foods as they explore different cuisines. It's taking place from the 25th to the 27th January and the price is £21.95 per person for three courses, you can find the menu on their website here.
They also gave us information about their juice programmes which are available to order from the stores. There are three kinds of programme; GLOW for skin health, REBOOT for energy production and REST for the digestive system. They are a way of kickstarting a healthier lifestyle and are exemplary to what the brand is all about, which made them so perfect to tie in with the event!
We also had the lovely Jodie McGregor or @jodies_fit_formula with us to give some motivating advice in her discussion on 'Goal Setting'. Being a local Health and Fitness blogger and personal trainer, Jodie was a great help to all the guests, myself included, and it was lovely to finally meet her! It's a weird thing nowadays when you know someone through social media and can finally put a face to a profile. She also very kindly made each of the guests a little 'Raw Power Ball' for the goodie bags along with the recipe and they were so good, I'm about to go and buy the ingredients to make some more!
